AB  - In 2014, the Colombian economy ended up with a positive outlook in the majority of areas
with the exception of the industrial area. While the growth of the GDP rose by almost 4 %,
the industrial sector decreased by almost 2 %.
The industrial sector difficulties are explained through external factors (the slower world
growth, the downturn of world trade, the commodities price declining and the market
competitiveness) and internal factors (the revaluation of the Colombian peso, the logistical
constraints, the high transportation and energy costs and the sector strikes) which affected
the Smurfit Kappa Cartón de Colombia S. A. (from now on Cartón de Colombia)
