AB  - Colombia is making advances in developing their country, especially in trying to cover their entire population with universal healthcare insurance. Since the most recent Law100 of 1993, this country has been trying to distribute private and public health care insurance coverage to all of its residents. Colombia’s health sector is clearly in a period of transition. Demographic change, new challenges in disease management and a lack of financing have led to a new way of thinking in regards of healthcare. Today Colombia has nearly universal coverage and improved health care indicators. According to World Bank figures, life expectancy has risen from 69 years in 1993 to 74 years in 2013. However, there is a lot room for improvement in the sector and this improvement could be made by exploring the Triple Aim and its three pillars based on population health, patient experience and per capita cost.
