AB  - Getting students to participate in oral activities in English classes in a public school is a challenge for most teachers. 
This research seeks alternatives to implement in English classes and thus motivates students to participate in a communicative exchange.
This article presents the analysis of the qualitative and quantitative results of the effects obtained by implementing music strategies and authentic tasks in the eighth grade of a public school in Cali city, taking into account the conclusions of the results of this research, teachers are encouraged to use these strategies to improve participation in oral activities in the classroom.
