This can be quite difficult as these companies or their markets grow, especially if their managers do not foresee the threats or opportunities that arise. This work applies skills acquired in the MBA program in order to define a simple methodology that is easily applicable to small businesses whose owners want to raise the skill level of each company, and to formalize and meet corporate goals. Analyzing the marketing components (Kotler & Armstrong, 2007), financial indicators (Prado, 2009), economic and political environments, and applying strategic focus tools (Thompson Jr, Strickland III, & Gamble, 2007) examines the structure of a small company called Asesorìas Clase Aparte, that, like other companies of similar size, has been successful in previous years at the hands of their owners but at the time of this work is facing some financial and commercial issues. This paper also proposes a basic model for those small and medium businesses that intend to improve their skills around their corporate vision and reinvent themselves (without diverging from their core business). This paper should help these companies recognizing their strengths, improving weak aspects, and acquiring some tools that enable them to better deal with the uncertainty of a changing and increasingly competitive environment. %K FACULTAD DE CIENCIAS ADMINISTRATIVAS Y ECONÓMICAS %K PRODUCCIÓN INTELECTUAL REGISTRADA - UNIVERSIDAD ICESI %K MAESTRÍA EN ADMINISTRACIÓN-TESIS %K PLANES ESTRATÉGICOS %K DOFA %K PLANIFICACIÓN ESTRATÉGICA %K STRATEGY %K STRATEGIC PLANNING %K STRATEGIC VISION %~ GOEDOC, SUB GOETTINGEN
