%X This case study presents the strategic alliance between Icesi University and Clinica Valle del Lili Foundation, two prestigious institutions located in the city of Cali, Colombia, both are a great influence and also beneficial to the fields of Education and Health respectively in Colombia southwestern area. The case presents the development of this partnership between two institutions that manage and implement high quality principles where there are common characteristics that converge and complement to achieve their objectives.
With this alliance in place, an agreement was signed based on their mutual relationship as “Teaching and Service” with an initial term of 50 years. Upon this alliance, Clinica Valle del Lili Foundation ensures optimal delivery of basic and specialized health care to the community, while on the other hand, Icesi University ensures academic excellence to the training of medical students at undergraduate and graduate levels.
The main goal of this case is to make clear the implications of the partnership between these two organizations as a strategic option that agrees to benefit from leverage, recognition, cost reduction and market positioning.
