%X Cacumen will be established in the city of Cali, and offer consulting services in the field of innovation and rapid prototyping for small and medium enterprises (SME). Cacumen will help innovate the processes, products and services of SME of Valle del Cauca and make them more efficient and profitable.
These services are supported by the Design Thinking and Business Model Generation methodologies, which are used by large consulting firms and universities like Stanford. Cacumen will offer training services in creativity, innovation, innovation methodologies and strategy and measurement of innovation inside the companies.
Juan Pablo Garcia and Alfredo Cabal, engineers and MBA’s, which have experience in innovation methodologies and management of innovation projects, compose the board of directors of Cacumen.
It is an excellent opportunity for a company in the field of innovation, because Cacumen will focus on SME and will have a significant difference with large innovation consulting firms that only focus on large companies. Additionally, in Cali, there is only direct presence of a large innovation consulting firm, Inventta Colombia, and the only competition for Cacumen are independent consultants.
Cacumen requires a total investment of $66.000.000 COP. The financial analysis of three years and four months prior to the establishment of Cacumen, gives us an internal rate of return or IRR of 123%, which represents a considerable value in relation to other investment options. The net present value is $392.937.064 COP using a rate of 20% annually and the discounted payment period is 18 months. Having an initial investment of $76.000.000 COP and achieving 70% of the planned sales, the IRR changes to 47% with a net present value of $83.341.804 COP and the discounted payment period is 36 months.
