%X tThe purpose of this research was to evaluate the productivity of companies in the extractive mining-energy area and its impact on the performance of financial indicators in Colombia. In the methodology weused, financial and productivity indicators of 31 companies registered in the database of the InformationSystem and Business Risk for the years 2010 and 2013 were calculated. The technique of discriminantanalysis of data was used to explain the belonging and the existence of significant population differencesof selected companies in the extractive sector, which showed a decreasing behavior from 2010 to 2013in the indicators reason operational usefulness and added value (IP2) and net reason and working capital(IP6).
