The process allowed us to observe the experience of the eighth grade students in a rural public school in their participation in meaningful activities. This reality mobilized in them cognitive connections that helped them in the identification and memory processes of key words in the foreign language. As can be seen in the development of the research, through the research question, the objectives, the theoretical framework, the methodology, the findings and the conclusions, this work is important because it allows us to verify that Ausubel’s contribution (1983) regarding meaningful learning supports this research.
