Bienestar y felicidad: impactos del ingreso, la riqueza y el empleo en el bienestar subjetivo en el ámbito urbano. El caso de Montevideo.

El bienestar, sus componentes y determinantes han retomado importancia en la teoría económica, y se han convertido en un tema actual y significativo. Por ello, este estudio tuvo como objetivo conocer el impacto de tres variables económicas del bienestar objetivo en la felicidad (bienestar subjetivo) de los individuos, en el ámbito urbano. A través de un modelo de regresión logística aplicado a datos de la ciudad de Montevideo, se pudo observar que existe una relación significativa entre el ingreso, la riqueza y el desempleo de un individuo con la probabilidad de que se autoproclame feliz (positiva en los dos primeros casos y negativa en el tercero). Los resultados obtenidos permiten asistir a la construcción de política pública en lo que respecta a la relevancia de las variables consideradas.

The well-being, its components, and determinants have regained importance in the economic theory. Therefore, the aim of this study was to identify the impact of three economic variables of the objective well-being on happiness (subjective well-being) of the individuals at an urban environment. Through a logistic regression model applied to data from Montevideo city, it was observed a significant relationship between income, wealth, and unemployment of a person and the probability to self-report as happy (positive in the first and second cases and negative in the third). Results allow to assist in the construction of public policy with respect to the relevance of the variables considered.
