The sense of belonging in the Colombian public sector has become relevant in the face of the structural and cultural challenges that these organizations face to motivate their employees. Although engagement and work commitment have been widely studied internationally, there is a gap in their application to the Colombian context. This literature review aimed to identify the key factors that promote the sense of belonging in public sector employees, based on the analysis of organizational commitment and engagement. An exploratory and descriptive methodology was applied, using the SCOPUS database with specific search formulas in English and Spanish. 22 articles published between 2002 and 2025 were analyzed, organized in a comparative matrix. The results highlight the role of transformational leadership, symbolic recognition, the use of management technologies (E-HRM), gender equality, non-monetary rewards, the balance between stability and innovation, and the perception of organizational justice as key elements in fostering engagement. It is concluded that strengthening the sense of belonging requires a combination of humane, ethical, and innovative practices, adapted to the conditions of the Colombian public sector. This review offers practical recommendations and future lines of research to consolidate more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable work environments.eng
