Ítem Comportamiento de los ingresos por comisiones bancarias en Colombia durante el periodo 2006-2010(Universidad Icesi, 2014-07-01) Contreras, Orlando; Bottia Santos, Yeison Fabian; Bronfman, Roberto SteinThe aim of this paper is to describe the behavior of total income in the Colombian banking sector from the perspective of those services that banks offer to their clients in parallel with financial intermediation which generates charges and fees. The main result of this article shows that both at the aggregate level and as a function of gross financial margin, there is a negative relationship between interest income and bank fee income, which suggests that the Colombian banking sector has developed a complementary cycle between the 2 sources of income.Ítem Estrategia de inversión optimizando la relación rentabilidad-riesgo: evidencia en el mercado accionario colombiano(Universidad Icesi, 2015-10-01) Contreras, Orlando; Bronfman, Roberto Stein ; Vecino Arenas, Carlos EnriqueThis paper assesses and compares the observed returns in the market portfolio with those obtained by an optimization strategy model that maximizes the Sharpe ratio, based on daily returns from the Colombian stock market data. Twelve recommended biannual portfolios are obtained for the period 2007-2012, which are then compared against real stock from the Colombian stock index. The results show the superiority of the strategy of the designed algorithm over the returns obtained in the market portfolio. This shows the inefficiency of the market portfolio and the potential of applying this strategy in other contexts and the possibility of adopting the model in real investment decisions.
