Estamos, si se quiere, ante una categoría con una enorme capacidad de mutación teórica. Pareciera que ella, en sí, es más que una noción, trascendiendo al plano de una “metáfora cultural” que nutre, altera y metamorfosea toda aquella realidad que toca y atraviesa. Con esa palabra-metáfora se evoca afirmación y seguridad, reconocimiento y autodeterminación, densidad y fortaleza. Con ella se designa todo aquello que nos pertenece o de lo cual nos es imposible escapar. Es, a la vez, una categoría analítica y sensible. Es decir, revela la importancia de la socialización y la internalización de valores, normas, usos y costumbres. Given these rawlisian postulates, this work emphasizes various critical aspects which claim that a theory of justice must contemplate not only individual rights and liberties, but also, the defence of recognition, identity, common goals and projects, aspects which exceed the idea of rational subject of liberalism and involve the notion of community, without which it is impossible to talk about justice.Ítem Libertad e igualdad en la teoría de la justicia de John Rawls(Corporación Universitaria de Sabaneta, Unisabaneta, 2013-01-01) Echeverry Enciso, YesidThe article presents the principles of freedom and equality, and it aims to differentiate within rawlsian theory the way in which those principles are applied; the role played by them in the construction or design of a fair society, and the inconvinients thar arose due to the application in more broad frames, speciffically in the case of openly unequal societies. Moreover, a series of critiques from Amartya Sen’s functioning and capacities approach are considered, as well as the communitarian perspective, and authors as Habermas, Van Parijs, Fisk, Dworkin, among others.
