Ítem Metal progresivo con recursos de música urbana(Universidad Icesi, 2024-12-18) McCormick Quintero, Luis Eduardo; Ramírez, JulioThis graduation project consisted of the creation of a phonogram comprising three original musical pieces that integrate elements of progressive metal with stylistic resources from trap music. The proposal aims to expand the expressive language of metal within Cali’s musical context, preserving its technical complexity while incorporating contemporary urban aesthetics. The methodology was structured in three phases: pre-production, recording, and post-production. The process involved collaborative composition sessions, the use of Logic Pro and FL Studio for digital production, recording at ICESI University studios, and processing with Neural DSP plugins. The results show a coherent fusion of both genres, where the structure and virtuosity of progressive metal are enriched by the rhythm, energy, and texture of trap. The songs achieved an effective aesthetic balance by combining irregular time signatures, programmed beats, clean guitars in trap sections, breakdowns, and rap. This integration demonstrates creative potential that could contribute to the evolution of the local alternative music scene and provides relevant insights for both academic and artistic fields.
