Ítem Método de evaluación y selección de herramientas de simulación de redes(Universidad Icesi, 2011-03-01) García Dávalos, Alexander; Vásquez Mejía, Andrés; Navarro Cadavid, Andrés; Escobar Paz, Lina MarcelaCurrently exists many software tools designed for Network Simulation (both commercial and Open source), situation that present an important decision to make for many researchers: Which tool use for network simulation? This paper proposes a method for evaluation/selection of network simulation tools, based in two key factors: ISO/IEC 9126-1 standard, which defines a quality model for software evaluation; and a cost function, based on values assigned to each one of the six items defined by ISO/IEC 9126-1. This method allows an expert based classification for each of the analyzed tools. We executed a test for NS-2 and NCTUns network simulation tools and obtained results was contrasted with technical reports and scientific articles related with network simulation tools.Ítem Software para toma y procesamiento de datos de campo en programas de control de dengue. Aspectos de diseño(Universidad Icesi, 2012-07-01) Baeza Valencia, David Felipe; Aguirre, Andrés Felipe; Navarro Cadavid, Andrés; Ocampo, ClaraThis paper describes the application of usability engineering's Life's Cycle model, proposed by Jakob Nielsen, and Donald Norman's conceptual design principles, to develop a web information system for monitoring and make decisions, for Aedes aegypti's (dengue's vector) control. The paper remarks the user interface's design process (Graphical User Interface [GUI] and Web) for each one of this system components.Ítem Calibración Basada en Medidas para Modelos de Trazado de Rayos en 3D para Ambientes Exteriores Urbanos andinos(Universidad Icesi, 2012-04-01) Guevara Ibarra, Dinael; Navarro Cadavid, Andrés; Africano, María VictoriaDue to the complexity of a real situation, estimation of path loss using the ray-tracing method usually assumes one or three large classes of homogeneous materials to represent the building walls, building roofs and street floors in order to have a viable model of the 3D environment. However, in a real case, an outdoor environment consists of many buildings and streets made of heterogeneous materials. Additionally, the characterizations of these classes of materials are usually taken from research of other authors with specific materials on site and often not done for the frequency band of operation. We analyze the behavior of the statistical variation of standard deviation, correlation coefficient and the average error between the values of estimated and measured path loss data when considering various values of permittivity of these three classes. Finally, we adjust the values of permittivity, obtaining a reasonable improvement of ray tracing to estimate the path-lossÍtem Delay spread estimation in 4,2GHz band using game ray based method(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2016-10-27) Guevara, DanielThe evolution of mobile systems has leaded to new frequency attributions like 3,5 to 4,2 GHz band. In this paper, we show the channel behavior of 4,2GHz in indoor scenario using a ray based system and compare delay spread results with measurements. We try to tune our model, adjusting permittivity values to reduce the mean standard error and analyze the effect of the permittivity differences in the scenario.
