    Hybrid Model to Measure QoE in IPTV: Methodological Proposal (PDF Download Available)
    (Researchgate, 2015-06-01) Ortiz, Jesús Hamilton;
    This article presents advances in research to obtain a hybrid model which allows the quality of experience within the residential IPTV service to be measured. The contents include a description of background information about objective and hybrid methods, the problem that needs to be resolved and the methodology to be used during the project. Our hybrid model will use quality of service parameters and a NR (No Reference) algorithm to evaluate the quality of video. This approach is not based on the results of subjective tests put forward to users previously. I. INTRODUCTION The current growth in IPTV service leads us to forecast that by 2016 this service will represent 88% of all global Internet traffic [1]. As a result, at some point in the future, this situation could lead to congested networks, degradation in the level of service provided, and therefore, end user dissatisfaction.

    Modelo para la gestión del servicio de IPTV aplicando las mejores prácticas a partir del mapa de operaciones eTOM
    (Universidad Icesi, 2013-07-27) Cifuentes Díaz, Jorge Enrique; Llanos Ramírez, Gonzalo; Asesor
    The IPTV service (Television over de internet protocol, IP), has a huge significant in the last years, as part of the development of the network of new generation (NGN, abbreviation in English). IPTV use the protocol IP (internet protocol) as a platform of transport to send the information to a television team through a connection to a WI-FI with technology like optical fiber to cabinet, building or home, FTTX (Fiber to the X) &/or digital lines to subscriber (XDSL, abbreviation in English). To implement a service with the characteristics of the IPTV, the communications companies have change the role of provider of traditional fix lines to a provider of services, what at the same time generate the need of a restructure the business process, besides still appearing new suppliers for TELCOS (Telecommunications companies), where we considerate to maintain a relation with cooperation and competitive, to obtain supply of telecommunication network and equipment, to aim and to offer a service where the costumer enjoy, to seek economic benefices, everybody establishing a chain of giving services. At the same time, the users, required a mayor arrangement for the telecommunication networks and the services what the TELCOS provide, all this generate more complex relations , of which can be manage with efficiency, surge of requirement to introduce new business process to direct a supply of these necessities. The approach of the work development is to offer a negotiation model to pretend give a support to business process in keeping with the benefit of television services over the internet protocol (IPTV), where have been describe the process map of negotiation for the IPTV service. the characteristic of their self , to enclose with the plan to pursuit and control, all that supported over the improve Telecommunication operation eTOM.

    The modernization of the infrastructure to expand capacity to carry data in order to sustain and improve service offerings with solutions that minimize capital and operating costs is one of the biggest challenges for telecom operators, as the investment the deployment of new technologies such as FTTH is very high, both for equipment as investments in force and deployment times while deploying technologies that take advantage of the existing resource such as xDSL, and FTTB FTTCab allows a balance between investment costs and operating costs.

    Protocol for evaluation of suitability of the copper twisted-pair access network for the IPTV service
    (IEEE, 2012-05-16) Pachon De La Cruz, Alvaro
    With the development of different broadband technologies in access, there is the greatest technological breakthrough that allows providing various services through it (convergence). Appear and telecom operators currently providing voice and data services by the traditional copper pair, and wishing to provide services such as IPTV, but have limited ability to transfer data in access. This technical limitation requires assessing the access network as a prerequisite and essential for the provision of a service through a process, a verification of the parameters versus standards and / or vendor specifications and measurement technology, for this reason it has decided address this important issue in this work. For the operator from a technical perspective, marketing and service support is of utmost importance to have the assurance that the service will be deployed and supported within the operating parameters suggested by the standards and providers.
