Ítem Afro-Colombian, discrimination and spatial segregation of employment quality for Cali(Universidad Nacional de Colombia, 2016-01-01) Gómez Jaramillo, Dany AlexisThis article analyzes how race and geographical location affect the quality of employment of Cali's population. We estimate an ordered probit model based on information from the Survey of Employment and Quality of Life (SEQL) in Cali, implemented by the Ministry of Labour and the Municipality of Santiago de Cali, during November 2012 and January 2013. Our results show evidence of possible racial discrimination of the Afro-Colombian population in Cali. Likewise, there is evidence of possible spatial segregation of employment quality, because even in the same city, employment quality varies depending on the area of residence.Ítem Satisfacción laboral: una revisión de la literatura acerca de sus principales determinantes(Universidad Icesi, 2018-01-01) Dabos, Guillermo E.; Pujol Cols, Lucas J.Although job satisfaction has received considerable attention during most of the last century, it is still surprising how fragmented this field of studies is and how limited the efforts for integration have been. With the aim of identifying the key factors that have been suggested as key antecedents of job satisfaction in the empirical literature, we conduct a review of relevant research studies published in high-impact journals in the last two decades. Our findings reveal that research considering both dispositional and situational antecedents of job satisfaction is still very limited. Finally, this article analyzes major gaps in literature and suggests potential lines of research.
