Model for implementation of teleworking in software development organizations

MANET: Advantages, challenges and applications for education
(Universidad Icesi, 2017-06-12) Bernal, María Alejandra
Presently, telecommunications are key for several human activities. However, there are some places where their use is not possible because of the absence of the required infrastructure: antennas, routers and switches. The Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks [MANET] has become a key tool for wireless networks because of its two major advantages: they do not depending on infrastructure and offers complete mobility. This paper aims to show their development; introduce their basic concepts, features, advantages, challenges and operation modes; and present how it can be useful, emphasizing in day to day activities, as education.

Conditional random fields in text segmentation by language
(Universidad Icesi, 2017-06-12) Cabeza Ruiz, Robin
This work presents using conditional random fields for solving the task of text segmentation by language, considering it as a sequence tagging task. Language changes are considered to occur in every part of the text, observations are assumed to be the words in the text, and the states are the different languages. Research let conclude that conditional random fields are a powerful tool for segmentation of multilingual text.

Implementing secure smart home using existing infrastructure
    (Universidad Icesi, 2017-06-12) Kumar, Sunjay
The emergence of Internet of Things [IoT] paves the path of the smart home. A smart home learns the habits of residents to make intelligent decision, which requires knowledge to be communicated and stored. The communication of generated data creates loop-hole in security and privacy of the user of smart home. Another challenging issue while designing a smart home is that legacy home appliances lack the smart connectivity. This paper focuses on designing a secure architecture to access smart home appliances, while using the existing home appliances that lacks networking and processing power like a bulb or fan. To ensure secure communication using internet, we are using third party authentication tool deployed in cloud. We have installed a gateway as the entry point to our smart home and connected all the appliances to it. The user is authenticated by authentication server and gets access to the services. For implementation purpose, we used Kerberos as authentication tool and DragonBoard as gateway.
