Estos resultados se obtuvieron de una investigación realizada en dos fases: una de revisión teórica, selacionada con el concepto y los enfoques de gestión del conocimiento y otra de trabajo de campo, a partir de entrevistas a diez directivos y encuestas a 525 personas de cuatro organizaciones localizadas en la ciudad de Bogotá (Colombia) líderes en penetración del mercado de los sectores manufacturero y de servicios.Ítem Gestión de almacenes y tecnologías de la información y comunicación (TIC)(Universidad Icesi, 2011-01-24T21:50:58Z) Cano Arenas, José Alejandro; Correa Espinal, Alexander; Gómez Montoya, Rodrigo AndrésThis article provides a state-of-the-art survey of the current use of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) in warehouse management and their application in the Colombian industry. This review establishes that warehouse management technologies contribute simplifying operations, reducing costs, and improving the flow of information. It also acknowledges that the main obstacles for their implementation are: high costs, organizational culture, and an unsuitable structure of warehouse management processes. This article also discusses some studies that show that ICTs in Colombia have a low implementation level at Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs), and an intermediate implementation level at large companies.Ítem China's increasing economy and the impacts on its energy strategy(Universidad Icesi, 2011-01-24T21:47:11Z) Concha Velásquez, José Roberto; Pichler, BernhardThis work enters into the topic of one of the world's most increasing economy, the economy of China. It will treat the question, how a country, hence a political system which was such closed and had a quite small economical standard and growth rate was able to improve in a tremendous way. This present fact discovers various questions, such like: How is it possible that a closed socialist state can improve its economical increase and international trade in a tremendous way? How is an increase in trade and production combined with energy consumption? How can China secure its energy sources in order to secure its production and energy household? The document starts with the theory of free trade to step into that topic.Ítem Entre el concepto y la práctica: responsabilidad social(Universidad Icesi, 2011-01-24T21:43:24Z) Crespo Razeg, FarideBecause of the importance of the concept of social responsibility in the world of business and the lack of understanding and relation with practices, it is essential to attempt to define it, thus learning what actions can be implemented to be socially responsible. Therefore, this article is aimed at demonstrating two kinds of discussions that have been developed around this concept in a general manner. On the one hand, there is a review of what could be called conceptual or theoretical issues, and on the other hand, there is also a discussion of a series of studies conducted in Latin American countries, especially in Colombia. In consideration of the above, became a genealogy of the concept through a literature review, establishing the importance of the relation between the theoretical and the practiceÍtem Consumidores y su decisión de compra basada en precio e información sobre responsabilidad social corporativa (rsc). caso de estudio: estudiantes de pregrado de una universidad privada de México.(Universidad Icesi, 2011-01-24T21:38:20Z) de la Garza García, Jorge; Arredondo Trapero, Florina Guadalupe; Maldonado de Lozada, Verónica del CarmenThe articles objective is to demonstrate that a socially responsible consumer is interested of being informed about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices and is also willing to pay a higher price for a product made with CSR. Criteria of price as well as the interest of being informed about CSR practices were the two variables analyzed for the Chi-Square test. Even though CSR was declared as an important issue for the majority of participants, products made with CSR hasn’t achieved much influence in the buying decision making or in the need of being informed about the CSR practices. The need to create social consciousness for consumers to promote CSR practices through the buying decision making was also demonstrated.Ítem Governance codes: facts or fictions? a study of governance codes in Colombia(Universidad Icesi, 2011-01-24T21:11:58Z) Mongrut Montalvan, Samuel; Benavides Franco, JuliánThis article studies the effects on accounting performance and financing decisions of Colombian firms after issuing a corporate governance code. We assemble a database of Colombian issuers and test the hypotheses of improved performance and higher leverage after issuing a code. The results show that the firms’ return on assets after the code introduction improves in excess of 1%; the effect is amplified by the code quality. Additionally, the firms leverage increased, in excess of 5%, when the code quality was factored into the analysis. These results suggest that controlling parties commitment to self restrain, by reducing their private benefits and/or the expropriation of non controlling parties, through the code introduction, is indeed an effective measure and that the financial markets agree, increasing the supply of funds to the firms.Ítem Stock market wealth-effects during privatization initial public offers in Chile (1984-1989)(Universidad Icesi, 2011-01-22T21:23:48Z) Santillán Salgado, Roberto J.Se estudia el desempeño posterior a la colocación de once Ofertas Públicas Iniciales (OPIs) en Chile, durante 1984-1989 y se proporciona una descripción detallada de las condiciones económicas y políticas prevalecientes. En particular, se presentan los detalles operativos del mecanismo de emisión de acciones, complementado con un estudio estadístico de los Rendimientos Ajustados por el Mercado de las OPIs. Aunque el tamaño de la muestra es limitado y no permite alcanzar una validez externa, el análisis confirma la presencia de patrones de desempeño muy similares a los observados en OPIs tanto privadas como privatizadoras, de acuerdo con otros estudios relacionados (Aggarwal, Leal y Hernández, 1993; Dewenter y Malatesta, 1997; Loughran, Ritter y Rydqvist, 1994; Perotti y Guney, 1993).Ítem Consideraciones para la formación en emprendimiento: explorando nuevos ámbitos y posibilidades(Universidad Icesi, 2011-01-22T21:21:17Z) Toca Torres, Claudia EugeniaEntrepreneurship has long been exclusively associated with the business sphere, but despite efforts on the part of educational institutions, development centers, and government agencies, it has had a remarkably poor development on other dimensions such as on the public and social spheres. This article proposes a reflection regarding the importance of entrepreneurship for an efficient and competitive corporate development based on different concepts adopted during past decades for the purpose of stressing its transdisciplinary nature. Then it goes on with a review of experiences to explore new possibilities for its application. Lastly, it raises awareness for people to have an open mindset to new dimensions of life in a society.Ítem Performance evaluation, fund selection and portfolio allocation applied to Colombia's pension funds(Universidad Icesi, 2011-01-22T21:16:36Z) Jaramillo Recio, Fernando; Berggrun Preciado, LuisThis study examines performance of mandatory and voluntary pension funds in the 2004 – 2008 period. Furthermore, we present a methodology based on principal components that can aid affiliates when selecting funds. Moreover, we examine two portfolio optimization methodologies to evaluate any performance improvements in an evaluation period when choosing a particular methodology. The first one suggested by Markowitz (1952) and the second by Reveiz and Leon (2008b). We find an increase in risk, using several metrics, of mandatory and voluntary pension funds as well as a set of funds that better characterize the common movement of funds’ returns. No evidence was found in regards to economically or statistically significant gains of applying either optimization methodology using several holding periods.
