Ítem Predicción de la rugosidad superficial en texturizados por electroerosión usando redes bayesianas(Universidad Icesi, 2013-10-01) Correa Valencia, MaritzaA model for prediction of parameters that defined roughness surface [Ra] when this texture is produced by Electro Discharge Texturing [EDT] is presented. The non-linearity, instabilities and expensive experimentation in this process, are main causes for use predictive techniques by means of robust and reliable algorithms, for study factors that present characterization hard. Series of experiments were conducted to produce plane surface textures using a modified EDM machine ALIC-1. The data collected in experimental phase were used for trained Bayesian models with Naïve Bayes and Tree Augmented Naïve Bayes [TAN] classifiers. Results show acceptable behavior within the operating range, consistent with the physical phenomena governing EDT process. Among the new concepts that are related to these technologies is the IoT-Internet of Things and with him, the University of Things as an alternative for scenarios within higher education that enable interaction between people and common objects. According with this concept –and based on Conceptual Framework of learning Internet of things, criteria– e-campus activities in several scenarios was designed and conducted, in order to assessment applicability and pertinence of Near Field Communication technologies. After a rigorous statistical analysis of the experimental results it was concluded that the activities promote a satisfactory interaction space for participants, improving usability perception of intelligent environments belonging to the IoT.Ítem Simulación del retraso en la transmisión de datos en una red celular debido al Handoff(Universidad Icesi, 2013-10-01) Fletscher Bocanegra, Luis Alejandro; Sarmiento Pérez, Carlos AndrésThis paper presents the outputs of numerical simulation of the effect of a mobile device's speed in delay of data transmission in a cellular network, because of Handoff. Code generation and simulations was done using Matlab's development environment. Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) have significant potential to enable applications for traffic safety efficiency transportation and sustainable mobility. The dissemination methods and routing mechanisms play an essential role in the design and characterization of vehicular applications. This article provides an overview of vehicular ad hoc networks; we describe the fundamental concepts, communication standards and vehicular applications. This paper also presents a survey on routing protocols for VANETs and simulation results for Distributed Robust Geocast.Ítem Determinación semiautomática de parámetros morfológicos de la huella plantar mediante el procesamiento digital de imágenes(Universidad Icesi, 2013-10-01) Magdalena, Ximena; Loaiza Correa, Humberto; Ferrin B., Carlos DiegoMorphological parameters of footprint plantar allow carrying out podiatric assessment. It allows studying changes and making clinical and sports decisions. However, in most of cases, these are manually obtained,and in the best case it is possible to use generic image manipulation programs; in conclusion, subjectivity and tediousness are current problems in this context. In this paper, a computer assisted proposal, to determine morphological parameters based on pedographies, is developed. To get the challenge, color based segmentation techniques, border detector based on optimal operator, and key points selection by discrete optimization, are identified. As a result, techniques show robustness against light source interference, spectral flexibility, and extendible to images of non luminous nature.
