Ítem Comparison of performance between a native app and a mobile web application for monitoring a photovoltaic system(Universidad Icesi, 2016-10-01) Santana, Sharon D. Sánchez; Delgado, Byron Medina; Mora, Sergio B. Sepúlveda; Estévez, José IgnacioA native Android application and a multi-platform web application to monitor solar radiation and the output power of a photovoltaic system were developed, in order to establish which is more efficient using the mobile device resources. The methodology for Mobile Application Development [MAD] was adopted and free software tools –Android Studio and HTML5– were used. CPU consumption, response time in sending data and memory usage for the execution of the applications, were compared; also, the user experience was evaluated through the 6Ms survey.Ítem Election analysis in Colombia and Venezuela 2015 through sentiment analysis and Twitter(2016-10-01) Trujillo, Juan Manuel Pérez; Salinas, Sonia Ordoñez; Montero, Romario Albeiro SánchezThis paper presents an analysis of the accounts of the main candidates in the regional elections on Octo-ber 25, 2015 in Colombia (Bogotá, Medellin and Cali) and the official hashtags of the two main parties for parliamentary elections on December 6, 2015 in Venezuela (PSUV and MUD) in order to determine the positive or negative trends and compare them with the results of the respective elections. To develop the analysis, we resorted to the technique of senti-ment analysis own of data mining and the use of descriptive statistics, concluding that sentiment analysis for estimating trends requires processes to monitor retweets, if you want acceptable results.Ítem Smart home simulation model for synthetic sensor datasets generation(2016-10-01) Weitz, Darío; Nant, Juan Pablo; Schmidt, Nicole; Lianza, Franco; María, DenisWorld population is ageing due to longer life expectancy worldwide. There is a trend in elderly people to live alone in their habitual residences in spite of health and safety risks. Smart Homes, intelligent environment systems deployed at elderly homes can act as early warning systems trying to forecast the worsening or exacerbation of the resident chronic conditions. Access to sensor datasets is essential for the development of an efficient real smart home. Procurement of such datasets is subject to several restrictions and difficulties. This paper describes the generation of synthetic datasets by means of a simulation model as a suitable alternative previous to the deployment of a real monitoring system. The collection of synthetic datasets will be used during the next project step to train and evaluate activity recognition methods and algorithms.Ítem Law on Transparency implementation process, ISO 27001 and Database Reporting on public entities(Universidad Icesi, 2016-10-01) Sánchez, Paula Andrea Villa; Echeverry, Ana María López; Granada, Edward Fabián PenagosDuring 2015 and 2016, in Pereira (Colombia) a training project addressed to public entities officials was carried out in areas related with: law on transparency, ISO 27001 and database reporting, though theoretical and practical sessions. As a result, a local researching group developed a set of documents with relevant and updated information on each topic. So, officials can use them as implementation guides in their respective institutions. This paper describes how the training sessions was developed. Finally, the results of the project are presented in a positive way, taking as a reference both an initial scenario and final scenario of greater complexity.Ítem Antidefacement(Universidad Icesi, 2016-10-01) Quintero, José Luis Osorio; Urcuqui, Christian Camilo; Peña, Melisa García; Cadavid, Andrés NavarroInternet conecta alrededor de tres mil millones de usuarios en todo el mundo, número que sigue en aumento con el transcurrir de los días.
