| spa |
| dc.description.abstract | This qualitative study explores English foreign language (EFL) teachers’ perceptions of oral fluency and its development, a topic underexplored in Colombia despite its importance in speaking assessment. The research aims to provide a multidimensional view of fluency, incorporating not only traditional indicators but also teacher interpretations and classroom practices. This is qualitative research with semi-structured interviews that were conducted with eight teachers from the Colombo Americano Center in Cali. Findings indicate that teachers prioritize cognitive fluency over utterance and perceived fluency, emphasize emotional and interactional factors, and incorporate fluency-oriented tasks in their classrooms. Although teachers’ views are informed, they lack a strong technical foundation, highlighting the need for professional development to deepen their conceptual understanding of fluency . | eng |
