Facilitadores y barreras en la cobertura del pai en menores de 6 años en Buenaventura. 2015 - 2023

Entre 2015 y 2023, la cobertura del Programa Ampliado de Inmunización (PAI) en menores de 6 años en Buenaventura ha mostrado avances limitados, influenciada por múltiples factores estructurales, de seguridad, institucionales, del sistema de salud, socioculturales, de acceso geográfico, entre otros. Este documento analiza los principales facilitadores y barreras que afectan el cumplimiento de las coberturas de vacunación en el territorio. Asimismo, propone una serie de recomendaciones orientadas a mejorar y fortalecer las coberturas de vacunación en Buenaventura. Esta investigación se estructura en tres secciones. La primera incluye la introducción, el contexto territorial y el planteamiento del problema; en este se hace un análisis de la literatura tanto global, nacional y local para entender las dificultades que puede atravesar el PAI y sus principales desafíos. Además, se plantean los objetivos de la investigación.

Between 2015 and 2023, the coverage of the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) for children under 6 years of age in Buenaventura showed limited progress, influenced by multiple factors, including structural, security, institutional, health system, sociocultural, and geographic access issues. This document analyzes the main facilitators and barriers affecting vaccination coverage in the region. It also proposes a series of recommendations aimed at improving and strengthening vaccination coverage in Buenaventura. This research is structured in three sections. The first includes the introduction, the territorial context, and the problem statement; this section analyzes the global, national, and local literature to understand the difficulties the EPI may face and its main challenges. The research objectives are also outlined.
