Resumen
The steel industry nationally and internationally is going through a period of change, which has meant that many companies have been forced to close their plants and seek new alternatives. Others, however, survive on high debt, low productivity levels, or competing unfairly. However, in the middle of a fairly complex environment, we find the Siderurgica de Occidente S.A SIDOC SA, semi-integrated steel, 100% Colombian, a company that over time has established itself as an efficient company, with high standards of quality, with a solid financial structure and above all, its commitment with excellence, environment and society. This case tells the story of SIDOC and shows how it has evolved through a process of constant evaluation has allowed to anticipate the actions of its competitors, and therefore correctly adapt to change. Moreover, it raises the challenges facing SIDOC to continue on the path of growth experienced in the last decade.
