Abstract

Zapata Coffee Roasting Company es un pequeño negocio de tostión y comercialización de café gourmet, ubicado en la ciudad de Bothell, Washington, al norte del área de Seattle, al noroeste de Estados Unidos. Fue fundada por María V. Zapata, quien proviene de cuatro generaciones de amor y pasión por el café, ya que su familia ha cosechado y tostado café por casi un siglo en el suroccidente de los Andes Colombianos. La compañía compite con otros pequeños tostadores y con grandes empresas con marcas altamente reconocidas cuyos productos compiten en el segmento de los specialty coffees, cafés de muy alta calidad que son valorados por sus consumidores por sus atributos consistentes, verificables y sostenibles. Zapata Coffee Roasting Company is a small business of gourmet coffee roasting, this is located in the city of Bothell, Washington, in the northwest of the Seattle area in United States. The company was founded by Maria V. Zapata, who comes from four generations of love and passion for the coffee business because her family has been grown and roasted coffee for more than one century in the northwest of the Colombian Andes. The company competes with other small roasters and with big companies with famous brands and with products that compete in the specialty coffees segment, coffees of high quality which are valued by the costumers because their consistent attributes, demonstrable and sustainable. The defined strategic plan looks for strengthening its marketing and sales force structure in pro of accomplish the “go to market”, in this way improves its costs structure and brand position in the region. At the same time, the strategic plan looks for claiming the financing of the strategic initiatives with the object to accomplish the “mega” of sale 500 pounds per week of coffee in 2019.
