Educación media en Colombia : brechas por género en los resultados en matemáticas en las Pruebas Saber 11

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo principal determinar la brecha por género que existe entre hombres y mujeres, en las Pruebas Saber 11, en matemáticas, cuya existencia ha sido comprobada en otras investigaciones. Se prueba la significancia de la diferencia entre los puntajes promedio obtenidos por niños y niñas tanto a nivel nacional como por siete ciudades principales de Colombia. Además esta diferenciación se realiza teniendo en cuenta la educación de los padres, el estrato, e ingreso mensual del hogar, en el periodo 2011 - 2015.

As the main objective of this research is to verify if there exist a gender gap, in Saber 11 test, in mathematics, whose existence has been confirmed in other investigations. The statistical significance of the difference between the average scores obtained by boys and girls, both nationally and by seven major cities is tested, as well as the differentiation according to the parents' education, the economic stratum, and monthly income of the household in the period 2011 - 2015.
