Percepción y significado musical: un estudio exploratorio sobre los significados y representaciones al escuchar música

Investigaciones anteriores, se han dedicado a indagar sobre las dimensiones que subyacen a las preferencias musicales de las personas; o también a buscar las dimensiones subyacentes a las funciones psicológicas cuando alguien escucha música. El presente estudio, pretendió enfocarse en identificar y analizar las dimensiones subyacentes a los significados que las personas evocan al escuchar música. Para esto, se tomó una muestra de 41 participantes voluntarios, quienes escucharon un total de 8 estímulos auditivos enmarcados en cuatro géneros musicales diferentes (Rock, Popular, Sinfónica y LoFi Hip Hop). Para cada estímulo escuchado, los participantes debían calificar la música con una serie de significados dados por la matriz diseñada.

Previous research has focused on investigating the dimensions underlying people's musical preferences; or also on seeking the underlying dimensions of psychological functions when someone listens to music. The present study aimed to identify and analyze the underlying dimensions of the meanings people evoke when listening to music. For this, a sample of 41 voluntary participants was taken, who listened to a total of 8 auditory stimuli framed in four different musical genres (Rock, Popular, Symphonic, and LoFi Hip Hop). For each stimulus heard, participants had to rate the music with a series of meanings given by the designed matrix.
