    Influencia de las tecnologías de la información y comunicación en el rendimiento de las micro, pequeñas y medianas empresas colombianas

    The purpose of this paper is to empirically test the impact on the performance of a company with use of information and communications technology (ICT). To do this 1,201 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Colombia were studied. They were asked about use of eight ICT tools for web environment, and their performance both globally, and specifically in its profitability, market share, internal processes, human relations and relationships with the environment. The results obtained, through multiple linear regressions, show that the use of ICT generates a largely positive impact in all the performance factors observed. These findings are useful for entrepreneurs, and organizations that promote knowledge and development of MSMEs

    Efecto de la innovación en el crecimiento y el desempeño de las Mipymes de la Alianza del Pacífico. Un estudio empírico

    This paper analyzes the effect of innovative activity on the growth and performance of MSMEs in the countries of the Pacific Alliance (PA). In order to do it, an empirical study with a sample of 386 companies from Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru was conducted. The methodology of multiple linear regressions by Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) was applied to verify the relationships observed. The results show that innovation in products, processes and management has a positive impact on the growth of employment and sales, also on profits. These results are particularly significant in PA’s countries of and can help entrepreneurs, governments and academia to promote actions that encourage business innovation and competitiveness.
