    El proceso de Aseguramiento y Valoración de los Aprendizajes por Competencias (AVAC) es la manera en que valoramos los logros obtenidos, una vez implementadas las estrategias educativas que hacen posible el desarrollo de capacidades, competencias y valores contemplados en el Proyecto Educativo Institucional (PEI), por lo tanto, hace parte integral del mismo. Se trata de un modelo resultado del diálogo y del trabajo colaborativo entre distintas instancias académicas; docentes y directivas, y que ha sido acompañado desde el Centro de Recursos para el Aprendizaje (CREA), para contribuir al mejoramiento continuo de los programas académicos.

    “Inglés y mucho más” - teacher professional identities at the Centro Cultural Colombo Americano-Cali.

    This research project aimed to describe the Centro Cultural Colombo Americano Cali (CCCA) teachers’ views of their teacher professional identities and the process of CCCA teacher professional identity formation. Besides, it aimed to explore teachers' views of the contribution of the CCCA to their professional identity. The data was collected through an online questionnaire, interviews and narratives in which 9 teachers participated. The findings indicated the teachers’ awareness of their professional selves, the relevance their didactical and pedagogical components of teacher professional identity have had throughout their teaching careers, and the identification of six groups of mechanisms through which the CCCA has contributed to its teachers’ professional identity formation.

    "Aprender a leer en grado transición" desarrollo de la comprensión lectora a través del uso de estrategias de lectura

    Este trabajo de investigación evidencia los resultados o btenidos con la secuencia didáctica “Los libros: todo un mundo por descubrir” que se desarrolló con los estudiantes d el grado Transición 7 de la Institución Educativa El Diamante , sede Señor de los Milagros , con l a finalidad de empezar a desarrollar en los niños la comprensión lectora mediante uso de estrategias de lectura . Metod ológicamente se desarrolló una secuencia d idáctica desde el enfoque de Roa, Pérez, Villegas y Vargas (2015) bajo un modelo de investigación cualitativa y descriptiva. Inicialmente, muestra el diseñ o e implement aci ó n de la misma y después se evaluaron los resultados de la intervención a la luz de planteamientos teóricos realizado s por Isabel Solé (2006) y Ripoll Salcedo (2015) .

    The L1 use in the FL classroom: a small-scale spanish/english study in the students’ english grammar development in a basic level course at Sena

    In the following research paper, the study of a series of classes in two groups with and without using the mother tongue of the research participants, was evaluated in order to understand its effects on their English grammar development. The analysis was carried out through the comparison of the data obtained from an English proficiency test applied before and after the classes already mentioned and through the analysis of the answers given by participants from both groups to a written interview. All evidence collected and studied allows saying that the mother tongue use might be positive for those novice students of a foreign language. This statement is based on findings regarding the kind of methodology used during the classes with both groups and the study of how the research participants conceive the relation of the L1 and the L2 to create a linguistic repertoire needed to communicate in different contexts.

Así, pues, este PEI da cuenta de un modelo educativo dinámico que nace de las prácticas y el diálogo entre docentes para recoger ciertos derroteros, que no marcan un lugar exacto a donde llegar, sino un horizonte por donde transitar.

    The role that parents and family support play in the efl learning process of 9th grade students in a private school in Cali

    The language learning process gets influenced by many factors, some of them are internal to the language and the individual and some of them are external to the language and the learner. The aim of the present study was to investigate in an exploratory way some of those external factors that could influence the outcome of the English language learning process. These factors were: The roles that parents and family were taking when supporting the language learning process of their children. The relationship between parents’ support and the students’ outcome in the English language subject at the school. The kind of motivation that students build from the support they get from their parents and the influence that academic background has on parents when they support the EFL learning process of their children.
