Management control levers in hospitals: the influence of accreditation on other mana-gement control systems
(Universidad Icesi, 2020-06-30) da Silva, Marcia Zanievicz; Lunardi, Micheli Aparecida; Serpa Ganz, Alyne Cecilia; da Silva Zonatto, Vinícius Costa
The objective of this study is to identify the influence of accreditation on management control systems (MCS) before and after implementation. A survey was performed, with a sample of 92 respondents (professionals responsible for implementing accreditation) and a t-test was used to evaluate the difference between the two samples (before and after accreditation). The results show that after accreditation, management control systems (beliefs, boundary, diagnostic, and interactive control systems) had seen significant improvements, leading to better management and quality of the health services provided. In the face of growing demands from the health sector, analyzing the balanced use of management techniques that improve organizational control in companies is expected to contribute to better service delivery and maximization of generally scarce resources.

Sistema de Evaluación de Proficiencias en Educación Superior - SERES-
(Universidad Icesi, 2006-07-28) Llamosa Villalba, Ricardo
The proficiencies evaluation system in Higher Education -SERES- allows: a) The knowledge, being and making integral sufficiency assessment of the student during each stage in the Engineering Professional Formation; and, b) The systemic and systematic knowledge management that can be applied in the teaching, research and extension processes. The SERES is a research product that is testing phase and it has been developed by the Innovation and Development Center for Software Engineering Research -CIDLIS- in the «Knowledge and Quality Management Model in Higher Education» Project - MGCES- in the E3T of the Santander Industrial University. This system nests three sub-systems: The organizational model, the functional model Sistema de Evaluación de Proficiencias en Educación Superior -SERESand the neuronal model. SERES is part of the neuronal model. The SERES is structured for integral working in the diverse courses of an engineering program, being these basic or advanced courses, under the formal requirement of practices structured activities, formative research and pursuit and control, sustained in a quality plan based in: the disciplined personal and team work, the selfevaluation, the co-evaluation, the evaluation and the hetero-evaluation.

Aseguramiento de la calidad en formación técnica de nivel superior y la incidencia de los planes de mejoramiento institucional .
(Universidad Icesi, 2021-05-01) Cárdenas-Saldaña, Norma Eugenia; Ganga-Contreras, Francisco; Aguilar-Ruiz, Cristian

The objective of this article is to analyze the 183 quality indicators established by the National Accreditation Committee (Consejo Nacional de Acreditación) of Colombia, and to propose more relevant, essential or crucial indicators using Atlas Ti5. Three hermeneutic units were used to get a typology of 11 indicators with the most indicative power to evaluate undergraduate programs. The analysis was made using the reports generated by tools such as Word Cruncher, Filter, Object Crawler, Query Tool, Coding Analyzer and Networks. As a relevant conclusion of this study, the 11 proposed indicators have the most indicative power, and are considered more friendly than the183 indicators from the National Accreditation Committee to write self-evaluation reports, and to improve the quality of tertiary education
