Ítem La grafía manzaniana: el lenguaje escrito mediante la metáfora y la prosopopeya(Universidad Icesi, 2013-07-01) Cosme Puntiel, CarmenThis article is a narrative analysis of Juan Francisco Manzano (1797-1853)’s Autobiografía de un esclavo (1835). It aims to give visibility to Juan Francisco Manzano as a 19th century Cuban intellectual and situates his writings within the afrodiasporic and Afrolatino ancestral heritage. The article examines the literary strategies deployed by the author in writing his testimonies such as intertextual figures in the picaresque prose and his privileged position as a narrator that deliberately mixes different aspects of his narrative disturbing the readership. Finally, the article presents an analysis of the metaphoric language deployed by Manzano through the interpretation of recurring themes in his autobiography. James Olney and Paul de Man’s theoretical framework are deployed to build an argument on the multiplicity of “self ” and/or “voices” that emerge from the Manzanian metaphoric narrative.Ítem Cuando Oliver se dio un beso con otro niño, con su mejor amigo, Dick: lenguajes literarios y lenguajes violentos dirigidos a jóvenes LGBTQ en el sistema escolar(Universidad Icesi, Facultad de Derecho y Ciencias Sociales, 2015-01-01) Pulecio, MauricioThis paper analyzes the way in which homophobic offensive language perpetuates discrimination against LGBTQ youth in the school system. Although it exemplifies a global problem, the Colombian case articulates a local answer. Results from fieldwork conducted by the author in elite high schools in Bogotá are shown to illustrate how verbal expressions of hate permeate the educational realm. Also, some literary pieces are studied, especially those from the poet and novelist Fernando Molano Vargas (1961-1998). The inclusion of his works in educational curricula is advocated. Literary language is opposed to hate language, to express ways to resist the latter that are able to legitimate non-heterosexual affectsÍtem Abra la boca(Universidad Icesi, Facultad de Derecho y Ciencias Sociales, 2015-01-01) Oviedo Acevedo, Tito Nelson; jamesroca@gmail.comEste documento resume de forma rigurosa las bases teóricas del Modelo Semántico Comunicativo: Enumera y explica los factores lingüísticos, psicosociales y pragmáticos que intervienen tanto en la producción de significado, como en la significación y en la generación y negociación de sentido; defiende la tesis de que “la lengua y […] la significación-comunicación son Poliscópicas, además de polifónicas”; se trata de una visión holística del lenguaje que sintetiza los aportes de diversas disciplinas (y diversos autores), además de la profundización en gramática y comunicación que propone el autor.Ítem Hacia una comprensión de la realidad social desde la teoría general de hechos institucionales(Universidad Icesi, 2011-07-01) Giraldo Chavarriaga, John AlexanderThis paper offers a critical interpretation of the general theory of institutional facts, which intents to comprehend, on the basis of a basic regulatory structure with functions assignments, how objective social reality is constructed. We discuss problems, approaches, and theoretical methods employed by Searle, in contrast to sociological constructivism, examining the issues of autoreferentiality of the concept of institutionality, the search for objectivity, the adoption of external realism, the concept of truth, the role of language, and intentionality in the theory. Finally, the author verifies if the theory in question complies with some of the features that a general theory of regulation should have, according to the criteria of René Thom.
