In this reflection the directive ability and competency are addressed from an Aristotelian perspective,which identifies three areas of knowledge: theory, practice, and technique, essential to the comprehen-sion and proficiency to complete a specific tasks. This provides guidelines to justify lighting a managementcompetence to a virtue category, by supporting the manager in the orientation of people’s work towardsthe achievement of common goals. This reflection is based on the comparison of two different proposalswith different origin, which share a common intention: one based on Positive Psychology the other onPhilosophical Anthropology.
