    Revisión de la plataforma robótica Lego Mindstorms para aplicaciones educativas y de investigación

    La robótica es considerada como una de las áreas de gran interés de la ciencia y la tecnología de hoy en día. La robotización, es decir, los sistemas automatizados, se encuentran en casi todos los sectores de la sociedad. En la industria, los robots son utilizados para soldar, transportar, montar y pintar piezas. En medicina, robots sofisticados ayudan a llevar a cabo cirugías complejas. En el sector militar, los robots son usados para explorar áreas hostiles. Por tal motivo, la robótica móvil y los sistemas autónomos son tópicos de creciente interés en los programas educativos de Ingeniería y Ciencias Computacionales. Por lo anterior, en este trabajo se presenta una revisión de las principales características de los robots educativos LEGO Mindstorms, examinando los entornos de desarrollo disponibles para la compilación de programas de software que permitan definir el comportamiento del robot. Además, un análisis de casos de éxito en la utilización de los robots NXT en programas educativos universitarios, así como su uso en prototipos en trabajos de investigación.

    The article presents the functional description about Eagle Network Sniffer tool, developed to measure quality of service parameters in next generation networks. Additionally we show the testbed implemented to test the Eagle Network Sniffer tool and the comparative data obtained with other free use tool, in order to evaluate and verify it operation.

    Funciones en contexto. Una experiencia enriquecida en la modelación y simulación interactiva

    This paper presents results of the application of a pedagogical strategy, under the research project "Validation of an interactive resource for undergraduate learning functions". The strategy was implemented during the second half of 2012 freshmen in Business Administration from the Universidad Colegio Mayor de Cundinamarca. The study investigates, in a first phase, the contribution of a pedagogical strategy that part of a real-world situation, and is supported by means of computer modeling and simulation in which GeoGebra software was used to build interactive working models. The purpose of the strategy is to strengthen students in meaningful learning of the concepts related to linear functions, affine, quadratic and applications and, in turn, make visible the relationship between mathematics and reality, as well as enhance the math skills development and student interest in the study of this science.

    Metodología para la gestión de la calidad de los procesos en instituciones de educación superior

    The design of methodologies for Process Management requires carrying out a research work which takes into consideration the general concepts and tools concerned with process evaluation, improvement and control, to integrate by means of a system approach, day to day management with institutional strategies. This paper is aimed to show the stages and the main tools of a methodology for process quality management in higher education institutions, as well as its application in a process improvement at a Colombian official university using management and statistical tools and the process management plan. As a main result, process effectiveness was raised and actions for continuous process improvement were proposed.

    Panorama de gestión cuantitativa de procesos de desarrollo de software en pequeñas organizaciones

    In the software industry, small entities are majority, and is important that incorporate them quantitative processes management practices for to reduce processes variability. CMMI-DEV and ISO/IEC 15504-5 address quantitative management, but are for big organizations. MoProSoft, COMPETISOFT and MPS.BR are for the small enterprises, but not include quantitative management. Through a systematic review of literature, searched for works about quantitative process management for small software developing enterprises indicating what practices do and how to execute. As conclusion, there is not available an integrated proposal that incorporate management practices quantitative of software processes for this kind of organizations.
