Resumen
This study is a description of the experience of incorporating a reading comprehension strategy with a group of eleventh graders at Vicente Borrero public school in the afternoon session of the school day, to see how it works to improve eleventh
graders' results on the English section of the ICFES Saber 11° test. The study compares the ICFES Saber 11° test results of afternoon students in 2020 and 2021. In 2020, the groups followed a conventional year curriculum, while groups in 2021 had an intervention based on use of literature and stories that emerged in the COVID-19 pandemic to facilitate the integration of English with other school subjects and resulted in the Project based learning model implementation in the school that allowed students to develop communicative skills and improve their results and their English level.
