Resumen
With the rise of technology, electronic entertainments such as video games can overcome certain limitations that improve their viability to be transformed into meaningful learning resources. Motivation and immersion play key roles in language learning through video games.
Motivation can lead students to dive into these learning resources outside of class time, while immersion keeps them close to diverse communities that speak the language they desire to learn. MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games) are designed around providing people with many opportunities to interrelate with others, which means they have plenty of room for writing and speaking. Also, being a part of a virtual world they can interact with, can make students more involved with what they are seeing, reading, writing, and listening to.
