Abstract

This thesis aims to validate and structure the ECO (Energy Capital Operation) business model to address the critical problem of high and volatile energy costs affecting the competitiveness and profitability of industrial and commercial SMEs in Colombia. Through an empirical validation methodology that included interviews and four pilot tests in Valle del Cauca, customer willingness to adopt innovative solutions was confirmed. The ECO model is based on a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), eliminating the initial investment barrier (CAPEX) and guaranteeing an immediate and sustained saving of 20 - 30% on the electricity bill. The model's success lies in a comprehensive proposal that includes tax advisory (Law 1715), real - time digital monitoring, and modular scalability, generating high satisfaction (4.7/5 to 4.9/5) and an 85% preference from pilot customers for the PPA over direct purchase. The results confirm that ECO is a financially and technically viable solution, with a clear roadmap for national and international growth and technological innovation (AI, Blockchain), positioning it as a sustainable and scalable model in the renewable energy market.
