    El sector educativo ha experimentado grandes cambios a causa de la digitalización y el rápido acceso a la información; actualmente este factor se ha reforzado debido a la pandemia del Covid 19. El cambio más significativo ha sido la integración de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (TIC) con el objetivo de implementar diferentes métodos y herramientas que les permita a los estudiantes facilitar sus procesos de aprendizaje. Así entonces, en mi rol de docente de inglés como lengua extranjera, y teniendo en cuenta que el uso de la tecnología está en constante auge, he decido incluir el uso de las TIC en mis cursos desde una propuesta didáctica que aporte a un proceso de aprendizaje significativo y promueva el uso responsable de las mismas.

    Implementation of created teaching materials for the improvement of english results in saber 11 exam at a rural public school

    The design of contextualized, appropriate materials for the development of the communicative competence, this study shows, is effective when trying to better the performance of high school students, in this case at Inmaculada Concepcion School in Villagorgona-Candelaria, about to take the standardized English test that comes with the Saber 11 exam in Colombia. With a battery of instruments that collect data, measure the impact of the activities proposed and the materials used, and with the results of the pre and post tests, it is shown that the intervention with the materials created by the teacher and the students raised significantly the level of the communicative competence of students. Also, questions are raised as what the best way would be to improve critical analysis competencies that were not altered by the activities designed.

    The use of cooperative learning as a way to foster students’ english oral skills

    The aim of this study is to explore the impact of cooperative learning on the English oral skills proficiency of students at a private university in Pasto, Colombia during the first and second semester of the Academic Year 2016. It was an action research Project whose design counted on one control group and one experimental group. The latter participated in cooperative learning activities altogether with regular language instruction. The ongoing data was collected through a teacher’s log and direct observations from the part of the teacher and from the part of two English teachers from the same University. After the study, it was observed that students’ speaking skill improved notoriously compared to the initial stage.
