Ítem SNR estimation for on body communications in MB OFDM Ultra Wide Band communications(Ieee Computer Society, 2010-04-12) Navarro Cadavid, AndrésIn this paper a new signal to noise ratio estimator algorithm based on the moments of the received signal is presented. The novel algorithm has been designed for Ultra Wide Band communications based on Multi Band Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MB-OFDM) communication systems. In this proposal, we analyze the behavior of ultra wide band channels when the time and frequency fading have fast changes. Hence, different time coherence values were considered and all the frequency fading models are based in real measurements made in an anechoic chamber. It is remarkable that all the measurement campaigns were focused on body communications. We conclude that the proposed model can be used for SNR estimation in adaptive modulation and channel estimation and link quality control in MB OFDM systems. The performance of the proposed SNR estimation algorithm and its comparison with other SNR estimators was achieved through simulations based on real channel measurements.Ítem La Simulación como estrategia didáctica para movilizar la competencia de uso comprensivo del conocimiento científico en la asignatura de física en el grado décimo de la IE Arroyo de Piedra(Universidad Icesi, 2023-06-01) del Toro Rueda, Edgar; Rosales Fernández, Martha Lucía; Asesor TesisEn la actualidad, las estrategias didácticas buscan utilizar herramientas TIC que satisfagan las necesidades de los estudiantes. Sin embargo, no siempre se sabe con certeza si estas estrategias son efectivas. Por lo tanto, esta investigación buscó diseñar, implementar y evaluar una estrategia didáctica que utilizara la simulación como mediación tecnológica para movilizar la competencia comprensiva del conocimiento científico entre los estudiantes de décimo grado en la Institución Educativa Arroyo de Piedra. Este estudio se basó en un enfoque mixto y utilizó un total de cuatro pruebas, dos pruebas de conocimiento y dos encuestas, como instrumentos para recopilar datos. En última instancia, se concluye que la estrategia didáctica que involucra el uso de la simulación como mediación TIC fue efectiva para movilizar la competencia elegida, puesto que las encuestas mostraron resultados positivos en cuanto a su valor didáctico.Ítem Delay spread in mmwave bands for indoor using Game Engines 3D Ray based Tools(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2016-04-10) Cruz, WilliamSimulation results of channel parameters using a Game Engine Ray Based Tool in different operating systems with different hardware architectures and using an open source 3D modeling tool for an indoor scenario are presented in this paper. This paper proposes a method for evaluation/selection of network simulation tools, based in two key factors: ISO/IEC 9126-1 standard, which defines a quality model for software evaluation; and a cost function, based on values assigned to each one of the six items defined by ISO/IEC 9126-1. This method allows an expert based classification for each of the analyzed tools. WESST - HS was conceived in order to satisfy the need to have a generic specification of an organ which could be further used within a surgical simulation. The initial goal was reached and surpassed; at the end, it was found that in medicine is better to treat organs like systems and that WESST - HS could be used independently. The generic specification is included in a web enabled Java application that lets the user interact with system’s and part’s information like shape, size, weight and color. Also, it is possible to display, scale, rotate and translate a three dimensional (3D) representation of the human systems from a file. Se modelan las pensiones como un bien público impuro y las decisiones con un enfoque de teoría de juegos. El principal resultado de la simulación muestra que, bajo ciertas condiciones, los individuos siempre querrán aportar a un régimen de ahorro grupal.
