Bienestar, un equilibrio emocional del adulto mayor mediante relacionamiento social y familiar

Cuando hablamos de cuidados geriátricos generalmente pensamos en soluciones sobreprotectoras o radicales que de alguna forma terminan afectando psicológica, emocional y físicamente al adulto mayor, sin dejar a un lado los sentimientos de la familia al verse enfrentados a una realidad que los obliga a tomar decisiones que a veces no son las mejores y mucho menos las que quisieran. Aunque estas son tomadas desde el amor, no podemos desconocer que la mayoría de las veces terminan acelerando el proceso de envejecimiento con todo lo que esta etapa trae consigo dependencia física, sedentarismo, miedos, rechazos, aislamiento social, entre otros sin dejar aflorar sentimientos y deseos existentes en sus vidas longevas.

When we talk about geriatric care, we generally think of overprotective or radical solutions that in some way end up affecting psychologically, emotionally, and physically the elderly without leaving aside the feelings of the family when faced with a reality that forces them to make decisions that sometimes are not the best and much less the ones they would like. Although these decisions are made from love, we cannot ignore that most of the time they end up accelerating the aging process with everything that this stage brings with it (physical dependence, sedentary lifestyle, fears, rejections, social isolation, among others), without let existing feelings and desires surface in their long lives.
