Resumen
Purpose - Designing a digital teaching tool for the development of microsurgical (vascular anastomosis) skills in students of medical-surgical
specializations.
Design/methodology/approach - The project was developed under 3 important stages. First, an investigation was made in the literature to know,
establish and define the different theoretical, didactic and practical dimensions used in the development of a skill in microsurgery (vascular
anastomosis). Likewise, field work was carried out to identify the pains and needs presented by microsurgery students and teachers who are in charge
of guiding them in their process of developing the skill. After that, with the help of the information collected from the literature and the field work,
different requirements and tools were identified that would lead to the solution of the users’ needs. Finally, with the gathered information and the
tools found, an application was developed to improve communication between teachers and students in terms of feedback on the training carried out
by the student, the immediate qualification for each training by the teachers, the possibility of carrying out training anywhere (only with the use of a
smartphone device), and finally to provide the students with a tool that illustrates their progress in the development of the skill.
