Transformación del proceso de Bienestar Animal de la Fundación Zoológica de Cali

El propósito de esta investigación es transformar el proceso de bienestar animal al optimiza r las actividades e integra r los subprocesos para obten er así mejor es resultados y facilita r también las actividades de los diferentes actores. Usando la metodología ap rendida en esta maestría basada en el doble diamante de la innovación, se diseñó una plataforma que integra todos los procesos de bienestar animal para que la información relevante llegue a los diferentes actores del proceso con oportunidad y permita tomar decisiones basadas en los datos y de manera ágil actuar para corregir lo que sea necesario antes de afectar el bienestar de algún animal. E n la fase de inves tigación s e encontraro n varios puntos dentro del proceso que al intervenirse pueden mejorar de manera ostensible la interacción entre las áreas , permiti endo recopilar información relevante para entregar en indicadores o definición KPI’s la observabilidad necesaria del proceso para seguir mejorando. Las implicaciones p rácticas de esta investigación van directamente a la mejora en las interacciones de las diferentes áreas y el flujo de información entre las mismas para permitir hacer un seguimiento y contro l de las actividades de los diferentes actores involucrados en el proceso de bienestar animal del zoológico de Cali. El valor q ue entrega esta investigación esta en proporcionar una herramienta que permite integrar todos los procesos relacionados con el bienestar animal como son Salud, Nutrición y Enriquecimiento como pilares del bienestar animal y facilitar el proceso en general, algo que no existe en el mercado actualmente.

The purpose of this research is to transform the animal welfare process by optimizing the activities and integrating the sub - processes in order to obtain better results and also facilitate the activities of the different actors. Using the methodology learn ed in this master's degree based on the double diamond of innovation, a platform was designed that integrates all animal welfare processes so that the relevant information reaches the different actors in the process with opportunity and allows decisions to be made based on data and in an agile way to act to correct what is necessary before affecting the welfare of any animal. In the investigation phase, several points were found within the process that, when intervened, can os tensibly improve the interactio n between the areas, allowing the collection of relevant information to deliver the necessary observability of the process in indicators or KPI's definition to continue improving. The practical implications of this research go directly to the improvement i n the interactions of the different areas and the flow of information between them to allow monitoring and control of the activities of the different actors involved i n the animal welfare process of the Cali Zoo. The value that this research delivers is in providing a tool that allows the integration of all processes related to animal welfare such as Health, Nutrition and Enrichment as pillars of animal welfare and facilitating the process in general, something that does no t currently exist in the market.
