    Aplicando métodos cualitativos y cuantitativos para mejorar la interfaz gráfica de usuario del simulador de cirugía WESST-OT

    The graphic interface (GUI) from the WESST-OT Simulator was validated using quantitative and qualitative human computer interaction (HCI) methods. In order to achieve this, surveys were applied. Also, GUI design principles were analyzed in the context of WESST-OT. Finally, the goals, objects, methods and rule selection quantitative model (GOMS) was applied. The information acquired was used to enhance WESST-OT’s GUI and at the end was validated following the same methodology.

    Routing Protocols simulation for Efficiency Applications in Vehicular Environments

    Recent research efforts of academia, automotive industry and transportation sector point to Intelligent Transportation Systems as a key technology for improving road safety, traffic efficiency and comfort driving. Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) have significant potential to enable applications for traffic safety efficiency transportation and sustainable mobility. The dissemination methods and routing mechanisms play an essential role in the design and characterization of vehicular applications. This article provides an overview of vehicular ad hoc networks; we describe the fundamental concepts, communication standards and vehicular applications. This paper also presents a survey on routing protocols for VANETs and simulation results for Distributed Robust Geocast.

    Simulación del retraso en la transmisión de datos en una red celular debido al Handoff

    This paper presents the outputs of numerical simulation of the effect of a mobile device's speed in delay of data transmission in a cellular network, because of Handoff. Code generation and simulations was done using Matlab's development environment. As a result, the responses of cellular network system by varying the parameters of mobile speed and time of completion of the test were analysed, and a model of the proposed system for determining the delay based on these two parameters was obtained.

    Valoración de sistemas ubicuos basados en e-Campus y Near Field Communication en un ambiente universitario

    The natural tendency of society to meet its daily needs, has led to adopt new forms of interaction supported by ubiquitous computing technologies that provide a new dimension of connectivity. Among the new concepts that are related to these technologies is the IoT-Internet of Things and with him, the University of Things as an alternative for scenarios within higher education that enable interaction between people and common objects. According with this concept –and based on Conceptual Framework of learning Internet of things, criteria– e-campus activities in several scenarios was designed and conducted, in order to assessment applicability and pertinence of Near Field Communication technologies. After a rigorous statistical analysis of the experimental results it was concluded that the activities promote a satisfactory interaction space for participants, improving usability perception of intelligent environments belonging to the IoT.

    Predicción de la rugosidad superficial en texturizados por electroerosión usando redes bayesianas

    A model for prediction of parameters that defined roughness surface [Ra] when this texture is produced by Electro Discharge Texturing [EDT] is presented. The non-linearity, instabilities and expensive experimentation in this process, are main causes for use predictive techniques by means of robust and reliable algorithms, for study factors that present characterization hard. Series of experiments were conducted to produce plane surface textures using a modified EDM machine ALIC-1. The data collected in experimental phase were used for trained Bayesian models with Naïve Bayes and Tree Augmented Naïve Bayes [TAN] classifiers. Results show acceptable behavior within the operating range, consistent with the physical phenomena governing EDT process. Find a surface roughness with particular specifications is demonstrated

    Prioritization of lean tools using gap analysis and analytic network process [ANP]

    La toma de decisiones puede ser un proceso complejo, especialmente cuando se debe considerar una gran cantidad de factores. En el caso de las compañías que usan Lean Manufacturing, la gran variedad de herramientas hace aún más complejo seleccionar: la herramienta correcta, para el sistema correcto, en el tiempo correcto. Este artículo propone un enfoque sistemático de apoyo el proceso de toma de decisiones, en dos pasos: en el primero, se lleva a cabo un análisis Gap, con el fin de comparar el estado actual de un sistema con una benchmark, y así identificar deficiencias en el desempeño en varias categorías; en el segundo paso, empleando el concepto de Análisis y proceso analítico en red [ANP], se priorizan herramientas lean en la evaluación de las necesidades y la determinación del nivel de urgencia de las mejoras. Usando ANP se establecen prioridades en una lista de herramientas lean, cuya implementación ser requiere con urgencia, considerando el estado actual de una empresa manufacturera. Un caso de estudio hipotético se utiliza para demostrar que el enfoque propuesto es capaz de seleccionar las herramientas que son aplicables y sostenibles, y a la vez responden a una necesidad urgente, de acuerdo con el input provisto por los usuarios.

    Modelo de referencia para la planeación estratégica de TIC focalizada en las fases de verificación y realimentación en instituciones educativas de nivel básica y media

    During the last decade, in Colombia, there have been efforts to include information technology and communications (ICT) in the school management, aiming to promote quality and innovation in the education system. The TemáTICas program for school’s principals has become the methodological reference for the strategic planning of ICT through the development of management plans using ICT. Educational institutions of basic and secondary level have advanced in the planning and implementation of projects that integrate ICT in school management, however it is evident the lack of tools to know what to do during the stages of verification and feedback when assessing the impact of their actions. This paper presents a reference model to direct the deployment of such steps, the design of the analysis of the current situation in south western Colombia and links with the COBIT framework and the ISO 9001:2000 (GTC -200). Includes the results of validation with a panel of experts.

    Visual information of the products offered by virtual channels has an important role in the customer purchase intention, for the case of perishable products, especially for vegetables, such information becomes more important since it involves one of the sensory aspects that consumers use to decide whether or not to purchase. The principal goal of this study is to identify and characterize different types of visual information that affect vegetable purchase intention through virtual channels and determining the technical and financial requirements that a retail company should consider to present this information using information technologies. Other factors that also affect online purchase intention are included, and although unrelated to the products visual presentation, are tied to issues to be considered by organizations, so that the whole virtual buying process is satisfactory to the client

Hence, this paper proposes a CS deployment mechanism in JSLEE environments which executes in an automatic way the activation, configuration, selection and installation process on the service.
