Ítem 3D reconstruction system for semi-automatic estimation of objects length and area by means of stereo vision(2017-01-01) García, Bryan; Erazo, Jorge Humberto; FerrinB., Carlos DiegoIt is mandatory to characterize dimensionally the manufactured industrial pieces for quality control purposes. As it is not possible to touch some pieces when trying to retrieve dimensional information, then non-invasive techniques are required to do so. Stereo vision is a passive technology which is both robust and accurate for non-invasive applications. For this reason, in this work we describe the design and implementation of a 3D reconstruction system for the estimation of the length and area of certain objects. This tool allows to easily incorporate new image correspondence techniques to its main execution pipeline. The user stories are based on natural language, which may cause some misunderstanding and miscomprehension problems between software development team and stakeholders. The paper proposes the inclusion of Business Process Models (BPN) in the XP methodology as an alternative to user stories, seeking to improve the quality and quantity of the information collected. The proposal was evaluated using user stories vs. BPN in 11 projects during all phases proposed by XP. Both strategies –and their effectiveness– were analyzed through software metrics, in order to demonstrate the improvement in the development process. By applying software metrics, it was shown that the use of BPN: improves communication between analysts and others involved, increase approval rate of customer requirements, shortens delivery requirement, fewer changes are made in each iteration and a lower percentage of defects are found by the stakeholder, regarding the use of user stories.Ítem Acceso al crédito y límites del crecimiento en Pymes: una mirada a través de la dinámica de sistemas(Universidad Icesi, 2010-03-24T23:16:27Z) Arenas Guerrero, Fernando AntonioEl acceso al crédito se considera como uno de los mayores problemas que deben afrontar las Pymes para su supervivencia y crecimiento. The algorithm allows to create a structural clustering, which does not depend on the knowledge of similarity measures, distances, etc. The clustering is directed in a natural fashion by the internal topology of the network/ graph. Such topology becomes evident by applying Q-analysis, by means of the structure vector, which shows the network’s internal Q-connectivity.Ítem Algoritmos de planificación en redes de paquetes(Universidad Icesi, 2010-03-24T23:27:25Z) Cuéllar Quiñonez, Juan CarlosThis article presents the mechanisms and processes required in order for a router to provide QoS in packet networks and it presents the state of the art in the subject of scheduling algorithms use in this kind of networks.Ítem Alineamiento de múltiples secuencias de aminoácidos usando algoritmos genéticos(Universidad Icesi, 2006-10-11) Solanilla, Luis FelipeThis article describes a genetic algorithm and its implementation that it allows the alignment of multiple sequences of amino acids by means of relocations that simulate the gaps insertion (holes) and actions of recombination to obtain higher scores in the alignment. Such scores are obtained by means of the method of the sum of even, in which there are considered all the possible combinations of amino acids in each column of the alignment and they are qualified being based on the punctuations of the matrix BLOSUM62.Ítem Ambiente software de entrenamiento de redes neuronales con ajuste evolutivo de la topología y las funciones de activación(Universidad Icesi, 2009-08-18T21:03:41Z) Méndez Ortiz, Edgar; Mariño, Juan Sebastián; Arguello Fuentes, HenryThis research examines two problems in the optimization in the neural networks used for most real applications: first, architectural design that involves determining the number of layers and neurons by layer, and second, the activation functions that will be should use in each of these layers. For it is developed a software tool based on genetic algorithms to find these parameters of a neural network. The developed tool allows the user to choose the algorithm used for training and also apply techniques to achieve better generalization such as the early stopping, the repetition of training and adjusting the training data to the activation functions used. Finally, the developed tool is tested into a specialized group of users who use the tool to find an optimal neural network architecture to solve a problem of identity verification through the facial image using artificial neural networks.Ítem Análisis de configuraciones en el núcleo de una red NGN para garantizar QoS(Universidad Icesi, 2010-11-25T22:04:37Z) Cuéllar Quiñonez, Juan CarlosThe quality of service has become a vital issue for service providers, but their analysis has been oriented to the configuration in the interconnectivity devices mainly. These studies are driven not only by academic interest in this subject, but also by concerns raised by communities in the city of Bucaramanga and other regions in Colombia with respect to the installation of a large number of radiocommunications stations. With this paper, the Radio GIS group makes some contributions, which will hopefully benefit both the population in general and the regulatory agencies, aiming at establishing control policies based on concrete theoretical and technical studies. The results of the studies discussed in this paper derive from previous research conducted in the field of electromagnetic propagationÍtem Análisis descriptivo del proceso de implementación del nivel 2 del modelo CMMI en una empresa regional de desarrollo de software(Universidad Icesi, 2008-12-18) Picazzo M., Catherine; Villegas Machado, Norha Milena; Tamura Morimitsu, GabrielCMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) is basically a continuous- improvement inspired model to classify software development organizations according to a fivelevel maturity and capability scale. The classification in a given level is based on the dominance that an organization shows evidence to have over the areas of that level, which in turn reflects the degree of maturity of the organization and of the processes that it follows to develop software. This article presents a preliminary descriptive analysis of a level 2 implementation process of the CMMI model in a Colombian software development company, making an overall presentation of how it was brought into practice the theory of the model in the processes of the company, to be compliant with the conditions, goals and practices defined in the level 2 process areas of the model. The article also describes the problems which arose in the execution of the project, as well as how they were solved. As preliminary results are presented some of the indicators defined by the company for the software processes, and the software tools that were acquired or developed for the support of the implementation of the process areas. Finally, some conclusions and recommendations which can be found.Ítem Análisis espectral de parámetros fisiológicos para detección de emociones(Universidad Icesi, 2012-01-01) Valderrama Cuadros, Camilo Ernesto; Ulloa Villegas, Gonzalo VicenteThis paper show a literature review in the field of emotions detection. The buzzwords of personal communications, meant to provide “access to anyone, anywhere, at anytime to the wanted service”, implies that radio spectrum demands are dramatically increasing in most developed markets. The last World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-07) allocated on a co-primary basis the upper part of the UHF band to mobile services as from 2015 in Region 1, taking advantage of the Digital Dividend due to the higher spectrum efficiency of digital TV with respect to the analogue system. This will cause potentially harmful mutual interference between TV and mobile radio services, that needs to be carefully analysed. In this paper we present a study of the co-channel interference problem, proposing a methodology to take into account the mutual interference between a LTE mobile network and a DVB-T system and highlighting the different behaviour of the two radio links.Ítem Anatomy guided bottom up creature skinning(Universidad Icesi, 2011-07-13T22:40:32Z) Loaiza Buitrago, Diego Fernando; Navarro Newball, Andrés Adolfo; Herrera Botero, Francisco JuliánIt is possible to guide skin construction from the creature’s inner anatomy. This paper introduces a method where is provided the system with bones, a set of muscles and a set of subsidiary organs in order to generate the mesh of the skin. The method generates a set of feature points from the inner anatomy. Then, it projects the feature points on a mirror plane which cuts the creature in the middle. Once in the plane, triangulate and reflect the points and adjust the skin’s mesh inflating it and deflating it until all skin vertices are within some threshold of the underlying anatomy. Finally, fur is generated with offsets calculated from the skin’s mesh. Feature point generation and automatic mesh generation strongly rely on the anatomical knowledge provided to the algorithm. However, it eliminates the need of a preexisting skin mesh. This pursuit is conducted changing many pre-conceptions inherited from the mass production traditions. It is necessary to understand immediate and delayed impacts of the changes, as well as direct and indirect results of these changes. This systemic approach should enhance the learner’s understanding of the system (the manufacturing company), its variables, its outcomes, and the relationships among the system’s components. This paper presents the process of designing a course to teach Lean Manufacturing to working professionals using systems thinking. This design process is conducted for the development of job competencies and using Active Learning Strategies.
