Los procesos de cambio organizacional y la generación de valor
(Universidad Icesi, 2014-04-01) Sandoval Duque, José Luis
The purpose of this paper is to explore, based on conceptual considerations and a literature review, some of the elements inherent to the generation of organizational changes as part of the management in search of value creation. There are many assumptions made about change, and organizations often make decisions based on misconceptions about what it really means, and on how to understand and face the need to make decisions when required, plus the consequences of acting ad hoc in that direction. Organizational changemanagement hasmany facets thatmust be understood before starting, particularly if management wants to respond appropriately to the needs of understanding it and using it to create value in organizations.

Beneficios y perjuicios de la estrategia de imitación
(Universidad Icesi, 2014-04-01) Arboleda Arango, Ana María
This article discusses imitation strategy, highlighting its potential benefits and detriments. By using an exploratory method, the article uses 15 cases that argue unfair competition due to imitation. The discussion offers a parallel among reasons for a company to imitate or not. To conclude, imitation is a feasible strategy as long as the brand is regarded as a distinctive attribute, and at the same time, following brands improve its market share and communicate attributes that are consistent to the product category. On the other hand, if imitation negatively affects brand distinctiveness, then it may cause consumer confusion and reduce the organizational incentive to innovate.

(Universidad Icesi, 2014-04-01) Calderon-Monge, Esther; Ayup González, Jannett
Despite the considerable research franchise, incorporating elements of brand valuation is still insufficient. The franchise businesses stimulate economic development in emerging countries like Mexico. This paper attempts to analyze the signal value of the Mexican franchise brands in the growth of those who have been operating in Mexico during 2002-2008. Methodology was used panel data with 911 firms operating in the Mexican franchisor system. The results reflect an effect of endogeneity and negative growth in the sector. The franchise decision took into account the economic situation and size among other factors that confirm the theoretical arguments.

(Universidad Icesi, 2014-04-01) Pérez López, José; Pérez López, Aurora
The present document has as its aim to propose a set of safeguards that may be used as a reference for internal and regulatory auditors and entities, in order to ensure the independence in this function. To obtain this aim, the applied research Delphi method was used. The results obtained demonstrated that there was no difference of opinion between experts on the importance of the safeguards. The independence of auditing activities and the internal control systems was unanimously considered to be the most important safeguard

Modelos de cálculo de las betas a aplicar en el Capital Asset Pricing Model: el caso de Argentina
(Universidad Icesi, 2014-04-01) Martínez, Carlos; Russo, Alfredo; Ledesma, Juan
Using a literature review, four methods are applied for calculating betas in a sample of eleven companies that, between 2010 and 2012, were listed on the Stock Exchange of Argentina. Using each method, it was identified that one can be relied upon to determinate the betas of Small Business not quoted on the Stock Exchange. It is concluded that to calculate the beta values and interpret the risk of each company, it is technically necessary to analyze the method used and the variability of the time series used, as well as having knowledge of the future prospects of both the company analyzed and the industryto which it belongs.
